Zimbabwe in brief
Zimbabwe produces gold, platinum group metals, lithium, chrome, coal and diamonds. It will ban exports of lithium concentrate from January 2027 to push processing into the country. Foreign investors deal with one agency, the Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency (ZIDA), which issues investment licences and runs the PPP and special economic zone units. Arrears to the World Bank, the African Development Bank and the European Investment Bank still limit what those lenders can do.
