Angola in brief
Angola is one of Africa's largest oil producers and left OPEC with effect from 1 January 2024. Its grid leans on hydro along the Kwanza River, where Laúca reached its full 2,070 MW in 2023. The Lobito Corridor carries a 1,289 km railway from the port of Lobito to Luau on the DRC border. Private investment projects go through AIPEX, the state investment agency, and most business is done in Portuguese.
