What does offtake advisory cover?
Offtake work usually has four parts.
- Product readiness: a clear specification, volume, delivery point, and timeline.
- Buyer mapping: which plants, traders, utilities, or importers need this product.
- Origination: reaching the people who sign offtake contracts and starting a direct talk.
- Negotiation and documentation: price, tenor, credit support, and legal terms, usually with lawyers and financial advisers.
Why does offtake matter so much?
For most mines, power plants, and processing projects, lenders want contracted revenue from a credible buyer before they lend. A signed offtake agreement is often the step that opens project finance.
What does Vektron Merchants do, and not do?
Vektron Merchants is a marketing agency for energy, commodities, infrastructure financing and industrial firms. We find buyers, offtakers, lenders and partners for companies in these four industries, and we secure meetings with the people who sign.
Once both sides are talking, contract terms are negotiated directly between you and the off-taker, with your own lawyers and advisers.
Frequently asked questions
Who pays for offtake advisory?
Usually the producer or project sponsor that needs a buyer. Fee terms are agreed in writing before work starts.
Can an off-taker also provide funding?
Sometimes. In a prepayment offtake, the buyer pays part of the price in advance and is repaid through future deliveries.
